Annual Report Content: [Local Art Gallery] President’s Message (Mock Sample)
Dear friends and supporters,
Thank you for your support in enabling me to serve as your President for the past six years. As my second term nears its completion and as I pass the torch to a new set of capable hands, I wish to reiterate how sincerely honoured I am to have served in this post. As I often say, local art galleries are the backbones of their communities, providing vital opportunities for young (or not-so-young) artists to learn, explore, experiment, ponder, and grow.
2023 was certainly an eventful year at [Local Art Gallery]! With COVID-19 firmly in the rearview mirror, our children’s art classes are back in full swing. While our teaching and administrative staff will always have my undying gratitude for learning how to use Zoom and for adapting our classes to an at-home virtual model, I can’t express how excited I have been to see our in-person classes thriving again! Seeing the smiles on the kids’ faces reminds me every day of why we tirelessly do what we do.
That’s not to dismiss our adult art classes, which, for the first time in years, are nearly at capacity! As I wrote in previous reports, even though our classes were virtual, enrollment in our adult classes increased during the pandemic, with many of our students commenting that the camaraderie and artistic outlet provided by the classes helped them cope with the emotional toll that COVID-19 was taking. Today, we’re exceedingly grateful that COVID-19 is behind us and we’re overjoyed to see that the increased interest in our adult classes is continuing post-pandemic!
Additionally, our new Curator brought us an exciting year of intriguing and engaging exhibitions! Our Travelling Exhibitions Gallery showcased contemporary works from well-known artists like [Artist’s Name] and [Artist’s Name] along with a special collection of paintings by [Historical Famous Artist’s Name], while our Local Stars Gallery covered topics ranging from Indigenous reconciliation to consumerism to modern architecture. I have always appreciated the diversity of exhibitions that we proudly display because it is only through a diversity of exhibitions that we can inspire a diversity of thought.
I look forward to my continued involvement with [Local Art Gallery] as a Past President and Board Member-at-Large. I intend to continue serving on the Programming Committee and I hope to continue to see you at future [Local Art Gallery] events and exhibition openings.
Warm regards,
[President’s Name], President
